vera.ai partner University of Urbino permanently monitors, detects, and iteratively updates lists of coordinated social media accounts by analyzing behavioral patterns and interaction metrics. In the process, team members uncovered a significant disinformation campaign on Facebook pertaining to Pope Francis’ health. Here's what the they found.

vera.ai's project partners CERTH, USFD and Ontotext presented advances in synthetic content detection, textual analysis and narrative exploration at the Sofia Information Integrity Forum (SIIF), held from 7–9 November 2024 in Sofia, Bulgaria. On 14 September 2024, vera.ai completed its second project year. Reason enough for Ontotext's Nedelina Mitankina to look back on a year of activities, as well as look ahead at what is to come. In her contribution, Nedelina portrays in particular the work carried out in relation to the so-called Database of Known Fakes that can support factcheckers and verification experts alike.
